Ore Processing

The Gold Sniffer can estimate the gold grade of drill core, tailings and pulps. It can measure the relationship between gold and its host minerals including pyrite, chalcopyrite, galena and sphalerite. It can also produce histograms of gold particle shape and size. This information can be used to optimize ore processing and to maximize gold recovery.

This shows the Gold Sniffer’s detection at micron dimensions of gold (magenta) and the following sulphide minerals: chalcopyrite (green), pyrite (pink), molybdenite (orange) and sphalerite (blue). This measurement was done on unpolished drill core cut by a diamond saw and required only 90 seconds.

The information provided by this Gold Sniffer measurement can be used to accelerate gold exploration, and to increase gold recovery and profitability for a gold mine.
