Electronic Waste

Electronic waste samples are from old cellphones and other electronic devices which have been broken into small pieces. Assay labs will not test these as they may contaminate other samples. There is also a need to detect how much gold these samples contain without destroying the sample in an assay.

The Gold Sniffer is able to take 3 mm x 4.5 mm pictures of these samples and Gold Sniffer software is able to determine which portion of this picture contains gold – a “picture grade”. With about 30 pictures, depending on the sample size, the Gold Sniffer is able to come up with a gold grade.
